I completed over 1200 hours in Clinical, Management, and Community locations working as a dietetic intern. I performed the NCP on patients, counseled patients, and completed cases studies and projects.
An honor society for the human sciences which strives to help leaders use an integrative approach to enhance the quality of living through excellence in scholarship, leadership, and research. I became an Exec member of the organization in Fall 2017 as one of the Nut Sales fundraiser chairs.
I set up events, served customers, maintained the buffet, retained inventory on alcohol throughout the night and then cleaned up at the end of the event. Summer 2017.
I worked virtually by testing recipes for online meal prep program. This included creating new recipes that fit her specifications.I also researched and wrote an article for her blog.
We created an elegant, authentic French dinner complete with decor, place settings, menus, and production schedules. Fall 2017
Shadowed in long term care (El Dorado Care and Rehabilitation), dialysis (DaVita), in-patient clinical (Via Christi Hospital), public school food service (Wichita Public Schools), and WIC (Geary County) for a total of just over 50 hours.
I assisted in organizing this week long campaign to promote self-esteem and the app BodyU. I organized booths and a celebration at the Fitness Center with a Zumba class.
I assisted with the food served to 10-20 preschool children in the summer trimester of the local preschool. I assisted in planning the menu, purchasing the food, and then producing and serving the product.
One year I worked with a nursing home Oak Pointe. With a fellow student we created a cooking demonstration, recipe handouts, and trifold with snack ideas, specifically in foods aiding memory. The next year, I worked with a local elementary school lunchroom to share nutrition knowledge.We created a nutrition "Guess Who" game.
